"The Skeptic's Guide to the Paranormal"
In this talk Australian Lynne Kelly will discuss reports of paranormal activity from around the world and her new book "The Skeptic's Guide To The Paranormal" which has recently been released in bookshops across Australia. This easy-reading book covers a wide range of topics from psychics to UFOs, from Nostradamus to yetis, from crop circles to spoon-bending. She approaches the topics in a friendly way - not trying to change anyone's opinion, just offering alternative explanations for events and extra details that are routinely overlooked. Lynne says whilst it would be fabulous if these things really did exist, many people forget that the world around us is already amazing and full of wonderful things if we take the time to look. Like a beautiful piece of music, merely understanding how something works in no way needs to diminish our sense of wonder.
