I started sketching as a child and achieved high levels in art throughout my schooling. In my teens I developed an appreciation for oil painting that was inspired by my Mother, and my Uncle’s works which were exhibited at his Studio Gallery in the heart of Melbourne. During 1960 I began painting portraits. These award winning portraits were exhibited and sold locally within Northern Tasmania. I have also, on request, painted many portraits of indigenous people. My involvement with art was put aside due to my employment commitments and the raising of my family. I returned in 1996 adding the mediums Watercolour and Pen and Ink. Having lived in the country for part of my life, I developed an appreciation of nature, animals and wildlife. I love to capture scenes during early mornings, or in the fading light of day, inspired by lengthy shadows, contrasting lights and glowing tones. I joined the Australian Society of Miniature Art Inc. of Tas. Vic. and Qld. and am a former member of the North West Art Circle, exhibiting along the North-West Coast of Tasmania My
