A Church of England
was built sometime before 1877 in the centre of the Don Village on land
owned by the Don Company. Some time after the liquidation of the Bank of
Van Dieman's Land this little church was removed to the east side of the
river and placed upon new foundations at the junction of the Devonport
and Spreyton roads.
