Australian Bingo

REAL WORLD BINGO"

WHAT YOU NEED
Books of tickets are available - a full set contains 6 books containing
all the numbers 1 - 90.

You may buy the full set of 6 or in part, a popular choice is to play 4.
What you buy depends on the number you feel most comfortable with,
and of course what your pocket dictates.

Each ticket has 15 numbers and you mark off the numbers (if you have
them) when they are called. Be sure to mark the number clearly.

Marking off the numbers is simple as they are arranged in columns,
1-9 in the first column, 10-19 etc. if you have bought the book of 6 you
will have to be alert because you will be marking every number called.

There are also games called FULL HOUSE or special LINE GAMES
These are bought as individual sheets, with the full set of
numbers ie. 1 - 90.
The Caller calls these games at a slower pace so that no one
is disadvantaged.
The first sheet played is often called the
EARLY BIRD
and the last is called the
NIGHT OWL.

MORE BINGO LINGO
A Ticket
....A grid of 15 numbers
A Page..A number of tickets for the same game
A Book..A series of tickets for different games
A Flyer....A single page of tickets
A Set....Book & flyer sold together
Each game begins when the Caller announces the colour of the
next game, and whether it is to be a Line Game or a Full House.
Play starts when the Caller says "eyes down".
Some Callers have their own preferred words to announce
the start of play.
You mark off all called numbers (if you have them)
When or if you complete the 15 numbers in any one of the boxes
be sure you yell out
BINGO loud and clear before the Caller calls
the next number.

If you are too slow yelling Bingo the next number may be lucky for
somebody else, and if both yours and theirs are correct you have
to share the win.
Each game takes approximately 3 minutes to play.
Your numbers will be checked against the callers screen before your
win is paid.
Remember - yell immediately and LOUDLY, it's your money, go get it !!
Prompt yelling prevents the next number being drawn, if you are too
slow you may have to share the win with the
winner of the next number called.

ACCESSORIES
Dabbers and Marker Pens have become very "up-market" these days,
with a large range of colours to choose from.
Bingo boards are also available.

A FEW BINGO TIPS
Whether you play bingo for entertainment, social contact, or to
enhance your purse, it is still a great game of chance.

Some people are born winners, some are born losers, but even
the losers can win at Bingo,
IF they have a "lucky" book.

Enjoy your luck good, bad or indifferent, remember the other side
of bad is good and there is always the next game.

Ever heard a player say "I'm not coming again because I never win,
of course you have, but you find yourself say hello to them again
next week.

What about a player that will say "I'm embarrassed because I am
having such a winning streak -
I always reply, half your luck, enjoy it.

After all - Bingo is a game of chance, & a social event among friends.
Be an optimist not a pessimist.
It is amazing to see how young & old mix on an even level - although
you will often find the young will keep their eyes on the elderly in
case they miss marking one of their numbers.

BINGO HALLS
There are the Professional Bingo groups where games pay big money -
but LOTS of people attend these, therefore the odds of winning
a game are not good.
Add to that, the games themselves cost a lot more to play.

There are also the Charitable games, held in small halls or club rooms.
These are fund raising sessions, they don't pay high wins but neither
do they cost a lot to play.

The chances of winning a game or even multiple games are much better.
The atmosphere is very friendly and even strangers wish each other luck.
