  A Birds Eye View of the Players by a Caller

I look out over the heads bent down, as if they were in prayer,
smoking cigs and rubbing the heads of their trolls. Oh, I am
the bingo lord, the caller.
Then it happens, I think I will be able to call one more number
and not give away the jackpot, but no.
The lady with blue hair has just hollered BINGO!

THE CALLER

Some say my calling is a delight
I shake my balls & call the numbers
Little they know I'd rather slumber
But when it is all said & done
*I* was the one that had all the fun.

They call me the caller on Bingo night
Bingo balls in bingo halls
Lord I wish I could hear the calls.
Somebody bingo-ed, who was that?
Must have been that lady, fat.
Bingo balls in bingo halls.

  WHAT MAKES A GOOD CALLER?

Give a clear indication that the game is to begin ie.
Eyes Down seems to bring the chatterboxes to attention
better than anything else ! also:-
To have a good clear voice
A consistent rhythm in calling
To really like what you are doing
To be alert for the call BINGO
Call slower as game nears a win
Give the player a chance
To like what you are doing

 ABOUT A SPEEDY CALLER

The numbers he would call out
Hardly hearing when we shout
We dab, we sigh
The time goes by
He WILL hear ME, have no doubt!
P.S. I'm not a silent player

 THE JOYS OF BEING A BINGO CALLER
You get to give away a lot of money
It's great to make someone happy
Sometimes you make a loser annoyed
To see heads down waiting to start
The friendships that are formed
It is amazing to see how young & old mix on an even level -
although you will often find the young will keep their eyes on
the elderly in case they miss marking one of their numbers.

(Star of T.V. Show Sea Change as Diver Dan) once supported
