European Bingo

Up until now:- {January 2001)
Bingo was not an authorized gaming activity in Italy.
You would play it at home in the family, especially at Christmas time,
but that was essentially it.
(actually I am not even aware that any illegal activity
was attempted in the area!).

I have now received - February 2001 - the following official news.
The article says that now Bingo "gaming" is going to be licensed to 800
specific "rooms" all around the country and that 1300 requests for a
licence have already been submitted (400 of them by the same consortium
of retailers and discos owners). Nothing online (if this is what you were
wondering about).
They are talking about 800 physical places.
