The return of a popular and moderately challenging walk in a remnant of the once extensive mountain ash and fern gully forests of the western Strzelecki Ranges. The park covers 1040 hectares and has a network of made walking tracks.and basic visitor facilities. It is very scenic and is of great biological, geological and historical interest. The altitude and rich vegetation generate its own unique rain forest climate and will be an ideal place for a walk on a damp mid-winter day. Forseeable hazards will be muddy walking tracks, some steep climbs and 10 kms of unsealed but well-used access roads.

The area is to the east of the main Lerderderg SP. It is interesting geologically because river erosion has cut through lava to expose older underlying rock . Circuit walk in very rugged terrain. We will visit the See Yup Temple/Chinese Joss House. Admission $1-. Guided tours are not available however it is interesting to just stroll through the place.

A classic walk from Punchbowl along the cliffs to Kilcunda. Lunch in the pub, then retrace our steps to the cars. This walk stays above the cliffs except we will walk down to Sandy Waterholes beach and then rejoin the clifftop track and pass Arch Rock and Black Head.

From Ashburton Station we’ll ride along the Anniversary Trail to East Malvern then through the Urban Forest and Boyd Park to Hughesdale. From there we’ll follow the Rosstown Rail Trail to Gardenvale where we’ll have morning coffee. Then it’s down the Elster Creek and Elwood Canal paths to the Bay and up to Beacon Cove. From there we’ll follow the path to Southbank, then up the Yarra and Gardiners Creek trails back to Ashburton. BYO lunch or buy at Southbank. Cars can be parked at Ashburton Station. Some on-road riding. Bail out at Flinders Street. Meet at Ashburton Station, west side at 9.30am.

The Bluff, 1725m. This is a circuit walk starting from 7 Mile or 8 mile Flat, heading up to the summit and camping at Bluff Hut. Views of Mt Buller, Stirling and back towards Jamieson. Day 1 will require a steep uphill, but will be rewarded on the summit with lots of space and a chance to explore (weather permitting). Day two will require many creek crossings. Snow shoes required.

Come and do your bit to help bushfire reconstruction. We will spend the day planting trees under the guidance of a Parks Victoria ranger. All you need to bring is strong gardening gloves as well as your lunch and plenty of water to last the day. The proposed site is Marshalls Road (off Buttermans Track), St Andrews. It is accessed via quite good dirt roads, and there will be
portaloos available.
There is a 350 metre walk into the site. It is quite exposed, so be prepared for inclement weather.

Stating from the old railway station in the pictuesque town of Trentham, the trail passes through bushland which is the habitat of the endangered Powerful Owl. Signboards along the trail explain the history of the area. The walk will conclude with lunch at the Redbeard Bakery which specialises in Scotch Oven Sourdough bread. After lunch there will be an opportunity to explore the historic buildings around Trentham.

This walk follows a series of management roads, walking tracks and firebreaks initially passing through dry open forest then tall mountain ash forest on the crest of the Great Dividing Range. It is rated Hard because the middle section is a long uphill climb with a 650mtr height gain.
