- Visitors are welcome to attend monthly Club meetings to gain information about the Club.
- Visitors are accepted on walks only if they have made prior arrangement by either using the walk booking sheet at a Club meeting or by telephone request to the Leader.
- Visitors may participate in day walks of suitable grading, subject to the agreement of each Leader for a nominal fee. If you are new to bushwalking we suggest you choose an easier day walk to begin with (up to “EM” grade).
- Visitors may participate in an overnight walk but only if invited by a member also participating in the same walk, and subject to the agreement of the Leader.
- The Leader requires the name, address, telephone number, and emergency contact telephone number of each visitor.
- All walkers are required to advise the Leader, in confidence prior to departure, of any medical condition that may affect their participation.
- The Leader is authorised to exclude any walker whom he or she considers not suitably attired or equipped, not sufficiently skilled or fit, or who poses any risk to the safety of the party, considering the nature of the walk and climatic conditions expected.
- Visitors must pay the Leader prior to departure a visitor’s fee as set by the Committee. Leaders are not authorised to accept membership applications.
- Written consent of a parent or guardian is needed for any visitor under the age of 18 years unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult acceptable to the Leader.
- Visitors must remain with the walk party and comply with any reasonable direction of the Leader.
- Visitors must share the costs of transport by car, in accordance with guidelines set by the Committee. (Car Pooling)
- Visitors who wish to cancel their booking should advise the Leader by telephone at the earliest.
- If you would like to join the Club, we ask that you complete two day walks or, if you prefer and already have the necessary experience, one weekend walk, as a Visitor. Then complete the Application Form (See Membership page), including details of the Club walks you have done, and return it together with payment of the Joining Fee and First Annual Subscription, to the Membership Secretary.
